Here's a little advice to job-seekers: do not project yourself to your potential employer as a green-horn looking for a break in the industry. There are hundreds out there like yourself, and companies are generally not community service organizations. A few fallacies:
1. If I lower my demand to nothing, they will take me.
2. I am willing to learn, camp out on the job, work my ass off, hell even make coffee for the boss. I should have a chance.
3. Knowledge of many softwares looks good on my resume.
4. Not knowing enough about the craft is OK, as long as I have "art". And when asked about what "art" is in interview, I stammer about the birds and the bees and the blockbuster movie I just saw last weekend.
5. Good formal education is worth shit.
Now guys, get real: the only key to getting employed is knowing that the company you're going into wouldn't do without you. Do you have that conviction? Do you believe that if they let you go, you would be out there whipping their ass some day soon? If you do, show it! If you don't, then it's probably time to rethink your career objectives.
