3D Animation Schools -> Which is bad ? Which is good ?

You seem like an Art Center student, so how do you feel about the Arts Center courses, are you learning the 3D courses ??
How do you feel about the City U too ???

i'm not an art center student, i just want to know more, cos i'm saving money now and wishes to join some cg course in H.K. those courses are very expensive. i wish to choose the worth one to study.
it is hard for me to choose. please give me more information.
Art center $80,000 for two years. it seem has a lot of things to learn. but the quality.....
CEC CityU $2,2000 for half of the year. it look very compaction. i'm afraid i can't follow on.(my computer skill are very poor. and no art or science background) but it seems have a better quality. they have Maya certify instructors. please help!!!!!
ive courses. i don't have any information. is it good?
other school. please give me information??
why i need to join those courses? somepeople here are study my themself. i'm also buy some books to study. but i still know nothing and make me more confuse.
please help!!

6 years ago i studied in Art centre " The course is about Graphic Design! i don't really remember the name is?!
It costs $6,000. For 6 months! But all the tutor is XXXX! i don't know why they teach us basic things as i'm a beginner!! Waste my time and money!! So, After that i don't studied in Arts centre anymore! Even i saw a coruse name CG.....! Also it costs $80,000........... !!!
But i can tell u that, if u study in CityU!! The tutor they're teaching really fast as u EXPECT !!! U have to 經常練習!!!!! I can tell u that i'm new in 3D! U know i studied this field only for 4 months, and then they ask us to do a personal project la.............. So, i have to work all night long after i off duty!!! So, 小了來這裡發言......Hope u can 努力 too.....!!!!
經過十年讀夜校的經驗,有時並不是那間校好,而是那個Tutor教得好唔好........ Hope u are lucky and understand my poor English

i have a friend who study in art centre. he said that they always change the maya teacher. And have a lot of classes talk about art and design principle, art history...., even have english and chinese lessons. ????

有英文學 ,同中文學 ,不過無數學 ,但有History,Art History .重有好多理論堂 ,D Software 有Aftereffects,Maya......, 不過Maya好似得Complete . 但有幾套Unlimited, 6,7套倒,但唔教.自學 . 我覺得加上體育,家政就正.好似返中學一樣. 但我個friend話最正就是部部機都可以上網.又快,D同學就成堂上網,都唔知呀Sir講mud.

that's the problem in my own opinion.

I have interview many city U student, most (I say most, not all) of them lacking basic ART training, cityU teach you software, what the function of every button, what the software can do for you.

did you guy hear what Raman Hui said ? (I quote him because people do listen to famous people ) Drawing Skill, Design background, basic art training is all about what you need to make great looking CG, software is just a tools, another meida.

humm, i think that the best is art centre + CityU, total $102,000. .
CityU half year has no basic art training, but cg skills.
Art Centre 2 years, only basic art training.
Oh!!! god!!!

I myself would prefer ARt centre, personally, I'm still think the basic is most important.

do you see many china artist make great looking CG ? that's because they have better traditional Art training.

如果選擇art center ，學生就會唔系學 cg 架啦喎，響art center 用八萬蚊讀兩年 art design ? 系咪唔多合理呢 ?

do you know the famous canada "Sheridan School or Art and Design" ? they have many graduated student working at ILM, Pixar....etc.

they also teach computer animation, but what they are focus on (beside software) are mostly traditional animation technique, film directing, sculpture....

they choose student base on the ART Sense, not Software Skill.
