3D Animation Schools -> Which is bad ? Which is good ?

To all of CG Fans, would you like to tell us which one of the school or training center is good or bad for learning 3D Animation or CG Effects in HK ?? I am just curious !!!

Be careful with the Max Advanced Course in Comp...Aca....because one of the instructor was terrible, progress is too slow, and the content and technique are supposed to be taught in Basic Course(For other school), but they put them to Adv Course for $3xxx., and it seems that the instructor wasn't very familiar with the Max at all, he hasn't prepare for the course well either.....
But they offered LW course, which I think quite rare and worth checking it out.

Yes!!! The Max Advanced Course in Comp...Aca.... i just studied there for level one and level two a year ago!After level two i quit ASAP... Cos, the four eyes tutor is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ........Everytime i asked him that how to do something, but he can't reply me! Just told me will reply next lesson!!! But i asked him back in next lesson, he told me he forgot to check my problem!!! And i remember the lesson he tried to model a hand, but after around 20mins he still can't finish it! And told us is the computer problem!! i think all the student knew what's going on in that time.....
But i'm studying in CityU CEC now, the tutor only use 5 mins to finish a hand with Maya.......And he is so kind and patient!He is really a good teacher!!!
i think is the four eyes guy made me to quit Max........
Just remember is if u really want to learn Max don't waste yr $ in Comput....Aca....... After u finish all 3 level it costs around $10000......But they only teach u that u can also learn it from books..........

how many teachers in cityU cec? Some of my friend also said that is good. can i choose the teacher? i really want to study as the same teacher as you (Maya初仔).

Hi Heha,
In my course there are 2 guys!The main tutor is Roger Wong! U can Download his free dowload file "Mr.Don't" in the main page here!!He is the guy i called him a good teacher!! The guy is four eyes also.. 2nd one is called Daniel...He is also kind too!
But one thing i should remind u that is they don't give any notes to u ....u need to take a notes yrself in the lesson or go to CEC homepage to watch it!But the on net notes is not wrote basic on Maya4! i don't know why they don't update it! But it's workable for Maya4 too!

you go to maya forum --title--VTC maya course, you will see that in art certre and ive are using cec cityu graduate student to teach their maya course. and i think you know to choice.

I was so angry with your experience because that 4 eyes instructor.....he did taught me and I remember once he even asked me in whisper where to find a certain button and he know nothing about the plug-in..God, even I can teach such a class haha , waste of money and time.

Thanks all of you for giving us the comments about the animation schools in HK.

To Girl : I've also heard some negative rumors about Arts Center. Some of my friends said that they don't have given notes to the students. If this is ture, it's too ridiculous !!

They also told me that Arts Center always keep changing the lecturers and discarded the good ones !!! And always unsure what they give to students !!!

Well, maybe I think Arts Center has a big problem for their course management !!!

Is there anybody here studying in art centre, please let us know what happen, because everything are under our rumorous. They charge for that course i think is the hightest one in H.K., and needed few years to finish. maybe not that poor. please tell us, thanks

i'm totally agree with u!! But i still remember 1 thing is he show me a really really beautlful CG picture to us and told us is he did it!! But in the same lesson he can't finish the hand model!!So, i thought he did lie to us..........
Other thing Siegfried, do u remember i asked u about the CG Gundam book?! U suggested to me to buy the Gundam Fix CG one?! Is that really good to buy? Cos, the sales they won't let me to see even 1 page!! Cos, HKD400! So, i scare to buy.....If u see it is OK! i will buy it! Many ths for yr reply!!

I swear to God it is a must to buy!

What did that 4-eyes show to you b'cas he didn't show us anything, well, that's 1 year ago la..
He finished the hand with 1 hr but the shape...he claimed it is the hand of aliens!
And he seems doesn't know what radiosity and causitic light are!

Many ths!! Siegfried!! I will buy it!!! Is P.P. Box wrapping the book!! They told me is all of CG Gundam! But i don't trust them! Many ths! Cos, u know! HKD400.....

Don't bother that @_@, time will prove everything, and the most important is that whether you are interest in CG or not, that doesn't matter if any one is better or worse than you, or letting the worst guy wasting your money, its valuable experience afterall! We now are sharing exp to the others so they won't waste their money, we did something good
Rumor has it that there is another instructor who teach Max Adv course, and he is also the one who instruct LW, really?
There is also a school named Supreme, ever heard about it? I saw it in 'Yut Bon Bin Lai', and they claim they can get you a job when finished their course, the course outline is quite attractive, any comment?

in this forum i think it is no art center students, or those course really have great problem , and they don't want to talk. cos they spend a lot of money, and they want to learn something back. but now....they become some people's joke.
