I'm a fresh Uni graduate student, i like to be an ainmator, but my major is not related to animation.I think about my future seriously these few weeks, may be becos the reality, i choose to further my career of my major subject field.At the same time, i planned to learn a part-time animation course of City U later.

Now, i have several questions, hope ur guys can help me..
1. Is it possible for me to get into that part-time course?Becos i will not work in full time animation at the time of application.... will it affect the chance of successful application ?

2. I hope i can be a freelancer after studying that course(if i really can get into it), is it possible?

3. Apart from this course, any suggestions?

4. I planned to save money these few yrs, then open a multimedia design company, is it possible?(e.g. Money, my qualification etc.)

Okay, what is your major subject. and why do you want to get into animation. You don't have to answer me, you have to think about it yourself.

Something you really have to know. Studying CG/3D needs a lot of time and energy. In my life, i gave up 2 times almostly. However, at the end, i didn't give up. My modevation is in my heart. I really like 3D. and the 2nd modevation is: i can not study. I am a kind of person who will not do well at school no matter how hard i try. I don't know if you understand what i mean. Anyways, I found something that i like to do. i have to stick with it.
if you don't love doing 3D, don't start.

I graduated 1 1/2 year. Still seeking for position. I am not expecting high pay. But just no luck. I am living in toronto. I don't know about HK. I was thinking about going back HK this summer but i finally didn't (sigh, i regrated didn't do that. since this is my worst decision in my life. i end up losing someone. sigh, that's another sad story of mine)

There has a lot of competition out there. There has tuns of good 3D artist being layoff around the world. Do you think you have enough talent to compete with them? you have to consider with this. If you have a staple major subject. stick with it. Doing 3D, you may doing it was your hobby. But if you are not stick with it. you will not improve. you will never be as good as those good artist.

If you are just want to do it as hobby. i don't suggest you take the course. don't waste the time and money on it. You can self learned by reading books. And one more very important thing. If you have friends, or someone you know who is doing 3D. or willing to start 3D with you. You will learn way faster. if not. you will just give up no more than 3 months.

I know i didn't answer your questions directly. But i will tell the same to everyone who wants to start and getin to 3D. Those questions that they have to think about. If they think they are suitable. go for it. and i will bless you success.
