About A3 scanning

I have a print-out rendering in A3 size, and I've lost the original computer file, anybody who can tell me how to make a computer file, by scanning, photographing,or..?
It'll be stupid to scan an A3 picture with A4 scanner for 2 times and then merge them together.

That is the only solution i know. I don't think it is stupid to do that. and it will probably done faster than you get an answer here.

But the color near the border of the scanned picture was shifted, i mean it's rather difficult to merge them together, I'd rather to scan it 3 times to lower the color difference.

i see what you mean. Then place the border in the middle of scanner and scan it again.

Sounds that this is the only better way.
