If it's projected by real HD projector in 1080p then the quality should be better than old film projection, at least without hair or scratches. The only thing that can be the bottle neck is the playback system. Normally, most digital cinema use disk player, meaning the full HD signal has to be encoded into mp2 streams and stored digitally on the disk drive. Right now the max bitrate is around 50mb/s. If they go for a cheaper player then low bitrate will introduce a lot of artifics like color banding, etc...
