Anyway, I checked out the HK Film Festival program, and there's a few stuff that you, my friends, might like to see. Too bad I won't be in HK to catch them.
First off: the Yasujiro Ozu retrospective! All 36 of his surviving works! Film historians call Ozu, Bresson and Dreyer the Trinity of Cinema. This is the director who caused me to give up film-making (how can one reach that artistic height?!) and switch to CG

Then, for animation lovers there's the surreal works of the Brothers Quay. Absolutely mind-boggling in their atmosphere; you guys must check them out.
And also, there's Marco Bellochio. Too bad HKIFF doesn't have the balls to bring in his controversial 1987 "Devil in the Flesh", in which the main actress (Maruschka Detmers, who starred in Godard's "First Name: Carmen") did an onscreen unsimulated BJ. Anyway, 心水推薦:Fist in the Pocket.
Have fun!
