Prop Designer

SOFA Studio is looking for a Prop Designer to join our team for the new animated feature film.
Creating original and interesting Prop designs and model sheets that follow the style and look of the picture

Essential Job Functions:
• Collaborating with Director, Production Designer and other members of the Design team to ensure conformity of the environment design to the film’s overall style
• Create unique props that fit Director’s vision of the project
• Understand not only what will be appropriate in terms of design, but also what is going to be achievable further down the line by the animation
• Ensures that creative and technical staff have sufficient information about the props throughout the production process
• Reporting directly to the Production Designer and updating work progress on a daily basis
• Self-managing — organized with good time management. Must be able to identify and meet goals
• Ability to produce designs quickly and efficiently

REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years of related experience
• Excellent drawing ability & demonstrates a superior design ability
• Demonstrates a diversified portfolio
• Familiar with good combination of body shape and proportion, good at using color and handling details
• Has a unique and leading vision of how art/technology should function and the ability to inspire a wide range of audiences to adopt this vision
• Strong understanding and experience of the film production process; with an understanding of the 3D build process is a plus
• Ability to work well under stress and to be creative with limited assistance
• Great communication skills a must
• Experience with Photoshop is necessary.
• Knowledge of sculpture or 3D model production is a plus
• Able to work both collaborative and independently.
