Production Designer

SOFA Studio is looking for a Production Designer to join our team for the new animated feature film.

Essential Job Functions:
●responsible for creating the 'look' of a project, visually interpreting the script, developing characters and environments that will both illustrate the narrative and enable Directors to realize their vision.
●Consider the script/treatment, and any other form of brief, when producing the original designs.
●Use whatever technique is appropriate to demonstrate the proposed designs.
●Either alone or with a team, establish the environments, characters, props, colour schemes and any other design elements required for the production.
●Responsible for recruiting designers when needed and providing internal trainings, workshops to finish the works efficiently under sufficient human resources and quality.
●Serve as creative head of Art Department, supervising the work of a team which may include art directors, concept artists, character designers, prop designers, background artists, model makers, set builders, storyboard.
●Consider the technical resources available on the production and any budgetary and scheduling restrictions.
●Self-managing — organized with good time management. Must be able to identify and meet goals

REQUIREMENTS:
●5+ years experience as a production designer on Animated Feature Films or Animation TV series
●Excellent drawing ability & demonstrates a superior design ability
●Imagination, artistic flair and talent are required to produce the design solutions for a project.
●Able to work to a schedule and budget and, and provide budget information regarding art department costs to the production team.
●Understand not only what will be appropriate in terms of design, but also what is going to be achievable further down the line by the animation and post-production teams.
●Good people management and leadership skills;
●Good communication and presentation skills;
●Ability to interview and assess work of potential art department members
●Diversified design ability that can be adjusted according to characteristics of the film
