Lighting Supervisor

SOFA Studio is seeking a Lighting Supervisor to join our team for the new animated feature film.

Essential Job Functions:
●Supervises lighting and compositing teams to deliver the expected and desired look of the film. Lead the team and provide related training programs to team members to ensure the works are done on time, within budget and meet the quality requests.
●Consult with Production Supervisor as to the technical feasibility of elements in the designs from the Art Department and suggest production friendly solutions that will maintain the visual style of the film.
●Plan lighting and composition pipeline according to the needs of different projects, work in collaboration with Production Supervisor and R&D team to develop the most appropriate tools
●Responsible for maintaining the conformity of color style and quality to the film’s overall style
●Deep understanding of Director and Production Designer’s visions for the project, convey the complete production direction to the team members.
●Assign work to artists based on their individual skills and strengths.
●Review works of each artist on a regular basis and report the achievements at each important stage to the Director for approval
●Discussing with FX Supervisor in terms of division and composition of all kinds of elements in every scene
●Self-managing — organized with good time management. Must be able to identify and meet goals

REQUIREMENTS:
●5+ years of related experience and experience in lighting or supervising for Animated Feature Films or Animation TV series
●Full knowledge of Maya
●Experience in RenderMan or RenderMan Studio
●Strong compositing skill in Fusion、Nuke or other compositing software
●Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Fine Arts or equivalents
●Experience in Mel scripting and Python is preferred but not required
●Excellent ability in controlling color, contrast and light shadow, professional photography experience a plus
●A detailed understanding of the lighting/compositing process and pipeline
●Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
●Able to work both collaborative and independently.
