Enchanting Studio – Looking for CFX artist / Lead

Enchanting Studio, a CGI studio produce high quality Full CGI feature film, TV series, and visual effects. We are now looking for CFX artist / Lead.

The CFX Artist / Lead is responsible for simulating cloth, hair, fur, feathers across multiple types of projects. Working closely with the CG-supervisor and director to ensure various simulations fits the purpose of the story as well as elevating the characters connection to its surroundings.

The CFX Artist / Lead needs to have a good understanding of fabric attributes as well as weight and scale.

Responsibilities:
• Set up and run Cloth, Hair, Fur, Feather simulations.
• Work together with the CG-supervisor and director to implement solutions.
• Communicate with the Modelling team to ensure that the models are suitable for simulation.
• Prototype and implement new solutions, following the standard of our pipeline and contributing to its maintenance.
• Meet delivery deadlines under production constraints.

Required:
• Experience in Cloth, Fur simulation for at least 1-3 years
• Minimum 5 years as a CFX Lead and CFX Technical role is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya.
• Advanced in using N Hair, N Cloth, Ziva Dynamics.
• Being self-reliant and able to judge and review your own work.
• Solid asset building skills, including modelling and rigging.
• Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks.
• A thorough understanding of the techniques and technologies relating to CFX simulation and procedural animation.
• A familiarity with scripting e.g. vex, Python, script is required.
• Official 5-days working but might need to work overtime on holiday due to job request.
