AMD XP or P4? which one is good for Rendering?

Athlon can dual too. and according to researchers reports, P4s performents only beat Athlons when their Hz is over 2gig. under than that, even they have the same Hz, Athlon is faster.

但好奇怪, cpu02永遠熱5度左右... 激死我

我現在跑1689hz, lw benchmark tracer_radiosity 有400s
都算合格

但當面對render transparent object的時候, 就仍然可怕
要張reflection recursion 數減低

否則rend天光

yes ar, i am now using dual amd cpu ar

but it's too trouble after installing them, u have to care many things

so, u have to think very clearly and do more research before u buy
e.g. 2cpu.com

but now i can settle down everything and enjoy the monster rendering speed. (although it's not the max speed)

as i want to use multi-threading in lw, so i decide to upgrade my computer to dual cpu lor

um, I know Dural cpu is so fast for rendering ....but u know ..so expensive , (espeically Motherboard.....feaking expensive.....) so I think I just can affort a single cpu......

Anyway, how much for your entire system? ( curious...)

what about P4 2.4(533)? how was the rendering speed? does anyone have any experience with that?

around 6xxx

p4 2.4, at the moment now, i dont know
but i will know, cos my company will upgrade my computer too

i just want to try p4 2.53 with geforce4 Ti4200

i don't know other software. but at my college, is dual Xeon, some times when i render using XSI. it won't use 100% of both. i mean sometimes. very weird

wa...haha..your school is so rich, man...dual xeon!! more expensive than AMD, my school only use P41.6 only.....

are the parts in Canada much cheaper?

Athlon相對Pentium而言，雖然在頻率上不占優勢。
但Pentium4通過犧牲處理器的效率來提高頻率，20級的超長流水線是他在想同周期內執行的命令數反而比athlon少。
而且，在浮點運算方面，Athlon一想占據一定優勢。
3D渲染重要的就是浮點運算，所以，做Render還是Athlon比較有優勢。
但要注意的是Athlon的散熱問題。

Athlon xp 正常來講是不可以 Dual的,如果可以又為何出 MP?我本人也是用兩顆amd mp cpu的 .
不過近來上網看到有人把 xp 改造,可以成為 dual cpu 但這個是一個內地的網頁而且又失掉了,所以不能供諸同好.
