- you can set your monitor up so the gamma, colors, and color tempurature are very close to TV or whatever output you are outputting to.
- if you can have a dual monitor setup where you can have your computer monitor and a tv or video monitor, then you can adjust your images or animation by looking at it right through the tv.
Outputing to TV will yield different results from your monitor, so if possible, it is best to do a output and look at it on tv or whatever type of media your final output is going to be to check the colors, contrast, brightness, and so forth... This goes the same for film work. Thats why we have dailys and film out everyday to see the work on the final media.
