I'm very curious about the features offerred by maya 5's hardware rednering, it seems not much documentation nor internet resources nor official information on that. and from the press release, Quadro FX will be fully supporting maya 5 's HW rendering. i'm wondering if i should buy quadro FX 500 or should i buy Geforce FX 5900
there emerge a few questions in my head:
1) is maya 5's HW useful? or is it just a very brief implementation, but still wait to be developed in the next versions? how about it compare to XSI and max?
2) can the new entry-level quadro FX 500 support it? or just quadro FX 1000 and 2000? but what EXACTLY are the additional features offered by QUADRO FX over GEFORCE FX on that?
3) how are those shaders authored? need scripting? does it incorporate cg of nvivida to it ?
4) i heard some said it can actually accelerate some portions of software rendering, anyone knows more?
any articles on the web has these discussions?
thanks
