未打大 tesellation!

1. select your model
2. open attribute editor
3. in the shape node, expand "Tessellation"
4. u can check the "Display Render Tessellation" to preview the smoothness of model (remember to check off when u finish)
:!: 5. expand "Advanced Tessellation"
:!: 6. check "Enable Avanced Tessellation"
:!: 7. u can tune the attributes "Number U", "Number V"

remember!! don't set the tessellation too high, it will make ur render very slow :wink:

One more tip, if your nurbs surface is joining other nurbs surfaces, u need to display the tesellation to check if they are tesellated into geometries of similar size. If they do, their edges should match perfectly or u can leave them to have a 2:1 ratio if things allow. Turn off display tesellation afterwards.

h2o, the above picture was created in Maya 6. No matter what NURBs I create, it isn't smooth.

But when I switch back to Maya 5.0, the problem is gone. So I compair the tesellation settings in 5.0 with 6.0.

I found the default U and V Divisions factor was set to "4.5" in Maya 5; but "1.0" in Maya 6.

I don't even know when I changed the settings. Now I set it back to "4.5" in Maya 6 and the problem is gone. :wink:
