[問題]如何加入Bonus.Tools???

我剛剛installed Maya 6.5, downloaded 左bonus Tools,請問bonus有咩用,同埋點樣install佢地入去個Maya度呢??? I'm so stupid~ 我奇實剛剛學Maya,所以乜都唔識,希望大家幫幫忙....... thanks!

I assume you are using Windows as your OS.
unzip the bonusTool.zip then you should have 2 folders which is called BonusTools6.5 and Modules. put these 2 folders under your boot drive (normally your C drive) my documents/maya/6.5 folder. then open the "bonusTools6.5" file inside modules folder with notepad or wordpad. then you should see these:

// edit this file for your o/s by removing the slashes (//)
// from in front of the line for your o/s
//
// the basic format is:
// + bonusTools6.5 6.5 "absolute path to bonusTools6.5 directory"

// sample windows path
//+ bonusTools6.5 6.5 C:/Documents and Settings/XXXX/My Documents/maya/6.5/bonusTools6.5

// sample linux/irix path
//+ bonusTools6.5 6.5 /u/user_name/maya/6.5/bonusTools6.5


delete the double slash (//) at the beginning of the middle path and replace your default maya perference path, which should look something like this:

// sample windows path
+ bonusTools6.5 6.5 C:/Documents and Settings/XXXX/My Documents/maya/6.5/bonusTools6.5

when u start maya up, if the installation is correct u should be able to see a menu item 'bonus tools' on the menu bar (the bar has File, Edit, Modify, Create......etc) then u are ready to go. if not, that means the installation is incomplete. if so, check 2 things:

1. make sure the path u copy n paste on the module file is correct ( every single word, including the direction of those slashs).
2. check inside the maya c drive folder (maya/script and maya/6.5/script, both folder) that u have a file called userSetup.mel. if no, then u are not having any problem. if yes, u open it with notepad or wordpad. then also open the userSetup.mel which located inside 'maya/6.5/bonusTool6.5/script' folder, copy every words inside userSetup.mel which in bonustool folder n then paste them into the other userSetup.mel (the one inside maya/script or maya/6.5/script). after copy n paste, delete the userSetup.mel file in bonusTools6.5/script folder. restart maya then u should see the 'bonusTools' menu item.
