Johngalliano, thx for your kindly comment.
First of all, I totally agree with your concern, and this explained why there are so many failed courses (not just for game development) in the market generally. We can see there are so many courses trying to give "hard" knowledge to the students in a very short period of time. Or even they provided a long learning period, but does that mean their students could take away useful knowledge? I am afraid not if those teachers are not really from the field. Or they simply teach theories or "book" knowledge which can be found from bookstores anywhere.
Regarding to our course, we have our own ideas, priorities and structures, in order to transfer required knowledge of game development to our students. For example, what we think really important to our students is Sharing and Participation. We share our real working experiences and we provide opportunities for them to participate in the real working environment too.
I believe that you may have missed our course seminar on 5th Dec, where we did walk through this issue that you are concerned. So, if you really want to know more about our concept in teaching game development, I hope I can see you in our course seminar for the next term. As the current term has just started and will be finished in Q1 2011, I think the next course seminar should possibly in Q2 2011.
