sorry to be late, mate.
just extremely busy these days.
here it is.................
there are 2 major methods when you are working with blend/ mix materials in 3dsmax.
i would suggest you are going to use Mix material.
it will be easier for you
Step:
1. select a default material in material editor.
2. click "diffuse", choose "Mix".
3. there are 2 bitmaps + 1 mask bitmap you can input under "Mix" material.
4. browse your 2 bitmaps you want to mix.
5. browse a B&W mask bitmap that will help you to mix your bitmaps with relating pattern.
6. after that, you should see a Mixed material
P.S. if you find your pattern is too repeated/titled, you can draw a a bigger mask image.
then you can use it with another Unwarp UV mapping.
i expect you apply UVW mapping to those 2 bitmaps.
