I suggest you get familiar with the software first.
Each material can spend someone a whole day to explain. And if you know what the software can do (not just max, but any other programs), you will know that there is no "standard" or "fix" setting or a certain material. It will depends on the environment, the light, what "look & feel" you want.....
So that's why you seldom see a "material library" for you to buy or use. That's one of the reasons.
