I don't think cg can solely be learnt by apprenticeship. Get some education on animation first, do a decent reel, then i'm sure u can get a lot more than $3000/month.

If u think u can't learn useful things in ur current company, leave it with no hesitation and go find another company. I believe other companies should have higher pay for fresh animators.
If u are now getting $3000 per month and u are pretty satisfied with the things u can learn there, then learn as much as u can. U're not going to get $3000/month forever. One very important thing is, all teams or companies are looking for people who have good skills and at the same time, nice to work with.

$3000對什麼都不懂的入行者是ok的，在這行很多人存有幻想，以為越久在這行便應越高人工，最主要是在香港沒有統一水平制底，外國有完善的水平等級來衡量技術和美術的認知，所以他們不是看學歷的是看以上提出的認知程度，因為是實實在在可看見的標准！

其實你可以計算一下你總共幫公可贊幾多錢, 又計一下你D薪水, 就發覺你可能有著數, 有人工又有得操3D都不錯了...........
