Workflow:

Maya 2008 - low res modeling

Zbrush 3 - subdividing & sculpting

Photoshop CS3 - texturing

Maya 2008 - Maya Hair



Well....this is my first realistic human model. It took me about a month to finish. Finding references is the hardest part as there isn't many high quality images available online, so i have spent quite a lot of time on try matching up the skeleton of the face. It isn't the best but this is the best I could do by now so please feel free to leave comments. Detailed comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

耳朵位置太高,一般人耳朵的最高點與眼皮蓋大約成水平.
side view 問題較大,耳朵太後,一般人耳朵與鼻和後腦的距離相約.頸也太深成了橢圓形.

只可以講系"一般人的耳朵"系咁 , 睇相都有講耳仔高過眼眉既人系有錢相..

build 人都唔應該成日用standard o個套限死, 即系好多書講既比例, 只可以當系guideline.

既然佢指定想build既人系真系存在, 只要跟足既話冇咩問題. 但系唔系跟足就唔知.

Thanks for the comments. The ears are probably a little bit high (about 2mm I guess). And the neck is too thick on the side view that's true. The rest are probably 90% based on the photo references.

It would be nice if you guys could grade my work at the CG gallery since someone graded me a 5 without leaving any comment so I'm kind of depressed now. A grade with comment would be appreciated. Thanks again.

I do think the ears are a little too high even after seeing his photos. I took a little time and play with your render in PS, not prefect but you can check it out. You should try to work out the problems in 2d before you do the changes in 3d, it's much faster and you will see your problems more clearly.

我覺得對眼細左.... 或者話短左至啱


另外我發覺有個問題, 依家個面相比例有少少怪, 唔知你會唔會明我講乜....

一般你搵到 d photo reference, 可能用左 24 or 35mm 鏡頭影, 如果你直接當 drawover, 又用 orthographic 既 front view build, build 出黎既 model 系有d 唔同架. :oops:

Actually I did try your way but the thing is most of the references I found online aren't the exact front/side view of Jay Chou. So, it didn't work out very well. Most of the time, it might fit to the front but not to the side so I had to do a lot of adjustment myself. Thanks for your comment anyway. I do appreciate that.

To h2o:
yeah i get what u mean but i just don't know how to fix it. I tried to match up the model on persp view as much as I could, but the shape of the face just looked horribly long when i rendered it out. Yet it looked just fine on orthographic view. So is there any way to make it work on persp view as well?

By the way, I just had a look on your portfolio at CGTalk. That's quite impressive. Glad to know that HK got such a talented 3D artist. So, are u working in HK? How old are u anyway?

系喎....咁有冇辨法fix 呢?

之前見有人教過build model
先打番focal length 大約76點幾
減少angle of view ....等build 完個人用番perp 睇唔會太怪。

其實我都系一知半解唔系好明講咩.....
系唔系因為有perp 去build model 會有錯覺...build 得唔准?

大部分 work 都系成 team 做, 我只系做 lighting, render, comp & QC..... 勁既 modeler, animator or 幫我做 lighting 既 team member 都系隱藏人物, hehe



至於 model 問題.... 我自己只識 build 死物, 除左 base on photo 之外, 有時仲會靠 cad 圖, or 用尺度 size & 比例. organic object 就靠有經驗既 modeler 做, 佢好似靠眼睇 fix 個問題.... :roll:
