The clay modelling was one of the major part while i was studying car design. And it was the most fun part. The first time I touched clay in my 2nd year. But I started a very simple shape for practise only.

The first proper clay car model was done in my 3rd year. You could find it in my website, clay model page, and it is on the right hand side of the fist photo. That actually is a solid clay model. I didn't do casting. Just painted it on colour. So it is very heavy.

Then I did another clay when I was working in Nissan as work placement. (I didn't show on my website). But you can have a look at the 3D concpet model done in Shade R4. Because I had the support by Nissan. The Nissan clay modeller taught me a load of professional skills. And I also used the facilities. They provided me all tools. And the funniest thing that I could use the full scale 3D scanner, what I had to do was made one side only, scan and input the data into the computer, mirror it, then output back to the other side.

The Apple-Car was the final project. It took me about 3 whole months to make it, from 10am to 11pm, from monday to sunday. I started it with wood as a strong structure. Then stick the blue foam for reducing the weight, because the clay is so heavy. I'd got those wheels by Nissan, which was casted with silicon mold. The wind screen, wheel arch, baggage space were done by vacuum form. That was the only model has been casted. Then sand it to smooth with sand paper, and wet and dry. Spray colour by the technical in uni. Put everything together......... that's it.... hehhe

I tried not to describe too details, otherwise people will get bored. But if you want me to share more, do tell me. I'd like to do so.

cheers

Hi guys,

My website was done in ImageReady + Dreamweaver before. A lot of people complained the load up time was too slow. So I have redo everything in Flash again but keep the layout. And it has just been finished.

I reduced the file size from 9MB down to now 2.7MB. It pre-load everything at the beginning, after it's done. It should be very quick.

I am still working on the animation page. Hopefully can get it done by this week.

Any comments are welcome, thanks
