Hi all,

I'd like to share this commerical that my company was done last couple month ago. The commerical is showing only in north america's TV channels.

I attach some of my WIP images here as well.

software: maya & maya fur
rendering: mental ray
compositing: after effect & inferno

i just want to know that is the orange juice made by real flow or a live shooting?

Beside I need to create a photorealist CG orange (see above photos). I also looked after the pour shot scene.
After a pre-production meeting, we gave up the idea of using Real Flow and shooted it in live action because it's much faster. We hired a "juice expert director" to do this job.

and then comp them in after effect.

one of my task in that commerical was figure out how to do the effect for the Net that our client wants. I tried different things like dynamic, softbody.... but the client didn't like it..... Finally I used deformer and lattice to achieve the effect. Bang! the client liked it :)

how to model??? I model in Nurb. Is it your question?.... and then lattice it. I animated lattice points and linear deformers (sine and wave) to get the goal effect.

Have you ever looked into skflex? I did some simple flag animation before using skflex, it's super fast and easy to use.

Anyway, great work!

do you mean "syflex", stantang?
Although syflex is good for many effects,
sometime, using of deformers are more convenient and simple.
Of course, it depends on what's you are doing and what's you are more familiar with.

Opps, did I typed skfelx? sorry. Yes, I agree deformers are fast and easy at times. I only asked because Timmy said they tried softbody. They have around 3 shots with orange hitting the net, it might be easier to have one syflex setup for all of them. Just a thought.

the reason i didn't use simulation (include skflex) to acheive the effect was animation issue. we animated it not only "physical" right but push it a little further in cartoon way. Our animators and I do need our animation's timing was expected and under control. The orange "big hit" on the Net, a little hang time on air and then all follow throught animation of the net.
