object light? what's that

something he is showing can be easily done with textures. You notice that all the neon lights are constant. So that you just have to make your object constant and paint a weight map to adjust the falloff and the transparentcy of it.

Or, if you want it to really glow. you may select your object and go "get->properties->glow" But the glow is another operation that goes ontop of everything after you render your scene. I haven't tried it on 3.0 or 3.5, but in the 2 series.. the glow operation sucks!!!

用glow的話也有問題，隱藏在物體裡面的是無法glow的。用貼圖是可以實現漸變的效果，但是燈光照亮的效果就不是很好了

I agree that glow is a very stupid effect.... on most of the 3D application.

But i've created something like that 1 year ago. Where i use constant as meterail add blur to it. Then i use FG as render. It does take a little longer to render. But the roof does reflect the light of it.

Anyhow, i've posted your request on xsibase. Hopefully those professional will come up with a perfect solution.

i jst wonder why don't you post a effect sample pic that you wanna to create and we can knw what you want attually. You should knw that is many way to create a same effect...so maybe some1 can help u here.
