Congratuation to Dick Ma and kenken for got nominated as final 9 of 動畫8拍. Looking forward to see your animations in TV. May be a preview is much better!

I also join the contest. Of course I fail as the animation is poorly made. However, it is a good chance for me to start.

Would someone kindly give advise and comment on my animation so I can improve my skills? Below are link to the animation (720x576 16Mb in size)

其實你的modelling 同 Animation技巧都好過我.
基本上我覺得最大的問題系選材唔系咁好.未能做到大會的要求...

剔除比賽因素.....
另外發覺條片冇enable self shadow. 光源太光....太白欠了自然...
ambient 都太勁喇...
用偏黃的光會比較自然一點......如果做的時候我會在室內制造一D火
炬....做light source...用channel增加光暗的照明....營造氣氛...

Thank you very much for your advise. However, I don't understand all you have mentioned as I only know how to use Rhino and Poser4. I am thinking of learning 3D Studio Max, Lightwave or Maya. Do you have recomendation on them?

More infromation on my short movie:
The animation is my very first try as all my previous works are always still pics.

As I am lack of knowledge in other 3d software, the entire animation is rendered in Poser4. I first try posing figures in Poser4. Then I add floor, columns, throne (modeleld in Rhino) into Poser. The characters are either from web or amended from figures in Poser. The textures are made in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. I also spend a lot of time in positioning and adjusting the lights and camera.

I agreed that the animation is too bright and lack of fire torch. However, the lights reset themselves during rendering and I cannot find a fire torch tutorial in web. As a result, the animation is not good.

Then you should go one step futher, try other softwares and start from nothing to something.......
