you can use .obj, .dxf and.or .fbx file. .dxf doesnt include texture infos (uv info, shaders etc...). obj probably is the most common file. fbx is becoming the standard of the way to exchange files becoz it is supported by those main 3d softwares (maya, softimage, 3dsmax, lightwave, cinema4d etc...). this not only support texture infos but also lighting, animation infos.
