so, i think this is not really a HDRI render
otherwise, seems to be a fake by a module of light set

any wrong?pls clarify a bit

but i am afraid i have some misunderstanding between fake GI and fake HDRI

After Effects is a key in this fake HDRI. It's not necessary to plug a complicated shader in 3D software.

All the methods are cheats & tricks. Hollywood used this method ten years ago (remember there have no HDR at that time) ........

I know it is hard to change the tranditional 3D concept in HK..... but I did it!

Could you tell us your work flow in AE and lighting setup in MAYA?

... 我再說多一點.... 不過同時希望大家也想一下怎樣做吧!

基本上 layers 分了: reflection, colour (bears), shadow, bg

右邊那只bear 就是只有reflection 的 layer

1. 在after effects 裡reflection 要用 "add", shadow 用"multiply"
2. 跟著用 level/curve 控制這兩個layers, 可以調教顏色及光暗對比 (這個要自己試才會明白這個道理)
3. 調整過後......再加 outfocus 的效果

p.s. reflection 的圖我在網上download 的, 還有lighting 方面...... shadow 這麼soft.....當然用了global light , 不過colour 那個layer 用數支燈已經可以了

How do you make 'outfocus' in AE or Photoshop?

outfocus 用了tinderbox2 (after effects) 的 lens blur, kpt 都有一個camera blur, 也可以做到 blur 後有一點點的光點

.......很多人會 render depth layer 來做 outfocus, 不過after effect 做得不夠好, 所以我勾mask blur了後面那只bear....... 哈哈哈
