I looked at your work on the 3DTotal gallery. I was
impressed by your idea of characters. First of all let
me introduce myself. My name is Rakesh Ravindran. I am
the chief project leader of Xstream Studios
Entertainment. Xstream Studios is a new Independant
game development company located in NY, USA. We are
about 8 months into the development of an RPG title
for PC and PS2. Our project is supported by two great
publishers. We have a unsigned deal with EA Games as
well. We are looking for talented Character designers
to work on this project. I saw your work and I am
interested in knowing how you think about working for
a company like ours. Even though we are funded by the
publishers for software and licenced products, This
project is currently not payed. However, as an
independent company and a future power resource for
any publishers, we haved signed for the release of
three RPGs for PC and PS2.
More about our Company and Environment:
Currently, we have 14 developers working on the
project. The game engine we use is one the best engine
out there for PC. It is capable of rendering
photo-realistic high poly models as seen in Maya and
Max. We use Aliaswavefront Maya, 3D Studio Max and
Blender to create models and levels for the engine.
Currently all project developers coordinate through
NET via Private Net Rooms. We have the Lead 3D
Developers coordinate such work. So working from any
location is not a problem.
About the Game:
The game is intended to have graphics comparable to
the latest relese of Final Fantasy series (Final
Fantasy X for PS2). It's graphics performance is
slightly higer than the Unreal 2003 Engine for PC.
First release of the game will focus on PC version.
However, a later instalment on PS2 of this game and
the instalment of the second game in the series for PC
and PS2 at the same time is being scheduled. All
developers working on the project now(who are
currently NOT payed) will have a permanat position and
access to the tools and modules of Xstream Studios. A
non-playable demo of PC version of the game is
scheduled to be released by Jan 21st of 2004.

Hi Jimmy,
The working place is not a problem here. You and
three others were selected to this project by our
current publisher (Strategy Games). We are alowed to
select three out of the four people. The way we work
is through internet. We have weekly meetings through
internet private chat rooms. I get sketch from the
Sketch/Concept artist and give that to people working
in the 3D section according to their agenda. Currently
out the 14 people, 6 people are from other countries.
We have few people working from France, Italy and UK.
The deal when the game is published is, we will give
you the option of working with us again for the next
game. You can chose to work in US for the next game as
well. Also, we are planning a developing studio in
Hong Kong and one is Tokyo as well for the next game.
