can you tell us some of your background?
for example, do you have any formal art training ? any programming experience?
if you already have some formal art training, then try to do this.
1. set a timeframe for yourself, like one year.
2. choose one software, learn it until you really master it before learning another package. the problem of today many young people is, they try to learn all the software in the market.
3. Set a small project for yourself, like 10 seconds animation or still images is ok.
4. Finish it, don't quit in the middle.
5. learn as you go, read any books and tutorials you can find and afford.
6. Repeat 3 to 5 ten times.
7. Pick the best from your projects.
8. Send your portfo to all production house.
9. If fail, repeat 3 to 8 as many time as you can.
10. Be happy.
Remember, CG Animation is hard to master (you have to learn, animation, lighing, modeling, texture, cinematography, a bit of physics, programming.....etc), you will find you have to really put many many time to learn and practice. and the competition is very high as there are more people studying it than before. You have to really make yourself stand out from them.
good luck.
