大家其實認為什麼CG才是好CG?

以Photorealism為目標的CG是好的!一張真到photo一樣的CG我們自當然覺得“好勁”。但是我們說一張CG好的時候,系否只是看其真實度呢?idea在CG界中又多重的地位呢?CG系一種技術還系一種藝術呢?現在的CG界又系向那方向發展的呢?

Whether the CG is good or bad is not depended on the technique solely, but the scene control, story, lighting,sounds..and also for who to see this CG. I've seen some CG looks like very CG, you can recognize it at once that they were drawn by computers, but the designers did their jobs already, CG can be said as a media which expresses idea in a different but through way. If the audience or client understand what the CG said, then the CG is already a good one because the audience didn't know what is good or bad. For me, if you paid effort, time and sentiment into you CG, then this CG is already a good one because it has a 'heart' within.

For now, I am only a un-employ individual. I will build a CG that can fully show my skills and aspect. I am bad at story telling. Somehow i have to avoid showing that in my reel. I am not showing any of my weeknesses in my reel.

Not many ppl are good in "every" subject. More people involve in it will get a better result (that's for sure)

As Siegfried has said " depend on who is your target", and i would like to add "what's the perpose of your CG"

:roll: I'm absolutly agree with above opinion - "Depend on what is your target" & "what's the purpose of your CG". Nowaday, Computer graphic stands in the main element in movie. They try the excellent environment to fit in real life. "Photorealism" and "programming" techniques add the main feature to make it great. In fact, some of the CG artist would like to talk their personal feeling. That's why the short animation almost full of "Art" feel. In my personal opinion, Computer graphic is a tech not the art. BTW, it is a cool, amazing tools for presenting.

In my opinion, I can not agree good CG = realism, but I do agree realism can be a good CG. As "Siegfried" said, CG is one of a media to expresses what the artist want to show. Like a drawing. You have so many way to draw a picture. But what is good drawing/picture? I don't think you can say real = good. If you know who is ALEX ROSS. Try to see his drawing, many people say his drawing is good, is real (of course I like too!). I don't think his drawing is really real. But I can feel he can play one of his skill(Lighting) in his pictures. Is very good effect, cartoon character mix with a little bit techniques. not only comic = comic, fine art = fine art. Computer just a tool. Of course it can do many things. But when you create a CG and you want to do a good thing. And then in your mind just have a "good CG = Photorealism"....you know, is no fun! So why people make 2D shade render in their software?
Creation is not like this! CG can be more fun! :)

我好同意大家的講法!
其實用Computer做CG就好像我們平時畫畫一樣,有時為需要會畫得好real,有時又會為表達一些idea而去畫。
睇完一些CG Gallery,聽完大家的見解之後,我覺得CG的的確確系一門新的“藝術”! :D

你是喜歡三維軟件本身呢?還是喜歡軟件完成的作品呢?當然我們大家還是喜歡作品的!不管是用什麼軟件,還是什麼辦法完成的作品,只要是好看的,大家就都會喜歡。
