升級3DS MAX 4.2問題 , 急救!

我的系統是WINDOWS XP.
我在升級3DS MAX 4.2 時,在安裝解壓過程中出現

標題為Can't run 16-bit Windows program

內容為The path C:DOCUME~1MY USER NAMELOCALS~1TempWZS12D.tmpsetup.exe is invalid.
的信息,按ok後就裝不了,請救救我...

I guess XP wasn't a good environment for 'any' CG software. NT and 2000 Pro could be better!

XP上用3D studio max系無問題,不過我裝時系用4.2版而唔系upgrade,重有系裝完之後入licensing時會有一個小問題,因為果個licensing program系XP到系run唔到,你要download個新版先得.之後就用得好順o勒.試試啦!

What did it improve?

And the Max very often quit to desktop suddenly, I believe I have enough Ram(1G) and HD Swap space, and 'just-OK' display card (3D labs VX-1), dual P3 450 CPU, 450W transformer, and SCSI HD..etc. What went wrong with the sudden jumping?

The 4.2.6 patch you can download on 3D Studio Max official web site. The improvement info. you can found in the web site. Just I can remember is that improve performance on Intel CPU.

For you problem that I never encounter. So, I can't help you at this case. But I suggest you doing Windows update to make sure this is not windows issue. Display driver is also a potential problem. You may check and update if necessary.

I got my Max from WanChai with $40, you know.....so I think I can't download the upgrade patch from official hompage.
I update my display driver frequently, so that's O.K.
But can you tell me more about the Window 2000 Pro update and where to get it, of course in underground site

All I said about the patch and update is `FREE`. Just download by yourself.
