AMD X2 or Intel Dual Core

Which CPU is better nowadays ?

I ask about AMD X2 because they are 64 bit and dual core while those "cheaper" Opteron chips do not support Dual core.

AMD only support the RAM up to 400Mhz bandwidth, but intel support 667 or even 800. IS THIS a serious ISSUE ?

anyone using AMDX2 to run 3d programs?
