Lucasfilmî–¸ studio in Singapore - Lucasfilm Animation Singapore ?produces digital animated content for film and television, visual effects for feature films and multi-platform games. Recent projects include the CG animated TV series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS and the Star Wars?The Clone Wars? Jedi Alliance?game for the Nintendo DS platform. The studio also offers a six-month apprenticeship called the JEDI MASTERS PROGRAM (JuMP) which combines classroom-based courses, department-based mentorship, and immersion in the production environment.

Job Description

The Technical Artist must be able to solve technical production issues, define work flows, streamline processes, and develop tools/frameworks for art pipeline.

- Develop appropriate art pipelines and workflow, working in conjunction with project leaders and the programming team. Set framework for manipulating art assets easily and efficiently.
- Solve technical production issues.
- Streamline art workflows and pipelines, especially those related to tool development.
- Work with programming and tools teams to develop tools/scripts/plugins to streamline art processes.
- Take leadership in pre-production planning to define and address technical design requirements and issues. Create documentation and tutorials relating to technical issues.
- Create technically sound art and art frameworks.
- Mentor and train others in areas of expertise. Train Technical Artists in the skills necessary to execute the art path efficiently.
- Excel as a team player and strive to maximize team/department performance.
- Performs special tasks as assigned.

Requirements

- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Art or a related field.
- Computer programming/scripting experience, C++ and Perl preferred.
- 3+ years or more of production experience in tool development.
- Minimum of one full development cycle on Game platform required.
- Strong understanding of 3D graphics.
- Strong knowledge of one or more major 3D animation packages, Maya preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Animation principles and Kinematics
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Work well under deadlines and multi-tasks.
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed
